Excel and CSV import
Import your cellar all at once, without re-entering anything.
Have you been tracking your cellar in a spreadsheet for years? Upload the file: Tannin identifies the columns, displays a preview, and creates an entry for each wine. Ten minutes, not ten evenings.

How it works
From spreadsheet to organized cellar, in three steps.
1
Prepare your file
One row per wine, one column per detail: estate, cuvée, vintage, appellation, color, bottle size, quantity, purchase price… Column order does not matter. No file? Download the template in the app.
2
Drop it into Tannin
Tannin reads the headers and recognizes the columns, whether they are in French, English, or Spanish. You see a preview of what will be created, row by row, before confirming.
3
Store your bottles
Every wine now has its own entry. Draw your racks as they are, then place your bottles. If your spreadsheet had a location column, it is already done.
What Tannin recognizes
Standard cellar inventory columns.
You don't need to fill them all out. An estate and a vintage are enough to create an entry. The rest can be added later, manually or by AI from a photo of the label.
The wine
Estate or producer, cuvée, appellation, region, country, color, grape varieties, alcohol content.
The bottle
Vintage, bottle size (75 cl, magnum…), quantity, purchase price, purchase date and location.
Tasting
Drinking window, tasting notes, ratings out of 20 or 100.
The cellar
Cellar name, rack, row, slot. If you entered "wine fridge, shelf 3", Tannin will know where to place the bottle.
Switching apps?
Bring your cellar, not a blank slate.
If your current app offers an Excel or CSV export, Tannin can read it. Check its settings or help section: most cellar apps allow it, sometimes only in their paid version.
Oeni, Viniou, PLOC
Export your cellar in Excel or CSV format from the app, then drop the file into Tannin. Standard columns (estate, vintage, appellation, quantity) are recognized automatically.
CellarTracker, Vivino
CellarTracker offers a CSV cellar export. For Vivino, depending on the version, a cellar export may be available in the settings. In both cases, the file is in English. Tannin also recognizes these headers.
Paper notebook or legacy software
No export option? The fastest way is to photograph each label: AI reads estate, cuvée, vintage, and appellation. For a 100-bottle cellar, count on just under an hour.
And if you want to leave?
Your data belongs to you. Tannin exports your entire cellar to CSV at any time, on both the free and Enthusiast plans. Take it wherever you want.
FAQ
Import, files, and data: what people ask us.
Which file formats are accepted?
Excel (.xlsx) and CSV. A Numbers or Google Sheets file can be exported to .xlsx or CSV in two clicks from the File menu.
What happens if a column is not recognized?
It is ignored during import, as shown in the preview before confirmation. Rename the column header in your file to a standard term (for example "Vintage" or "Millésime") and try importing again.
Can I import multiple times?
Yes. Each import creates new entries. If you add purchases to your spreadsheet, import only the new rows to avoid duplicates.
Are label photos imported?
Not from a spreadsheet. After importing, photograph the labels of the wines you care about: AI completes the details and cuts out the bottle.
My file is in English or Spanish, is that a problem?
No. Common headers are recognized in all three languages: "Producer", "Vintage", "Añada", "Bodega"…
Is import available in the free version?
Yes. Excel and CSV import and export are included in the free version, with unlimited bottles.

Your cellar deserves better than a spreadsheet.
Import it tonight. Tomorrow, each bottle will have its entry, its slot, and its drinking window.
